It was established by the Jesuits during the period of re-Catholicization and consists of the Church of the Holy Cross, fourteen chapels of the Stations of the Cross, the Chapel of the Holy Steps, catacombs, and an adjacent cemetery.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The path to the calvary is captivating and, thanks to the diverse nature, also relaxing. Each chapel is adorned with ornaments, coats of arms, and a semi-circular vaulted entrance portal. The Baroque Church of the Holy Cross boasts interesting wall paintings by the Pre\u0161ov painter Ondrej Trtina. Above the altar, there are three crosses and statues of the Virgin Mary, Mary Magdalene, and St. John the Apostle.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Visitors can enjoy a view of the beautiful city of Pre\u0161ov from the calvary. The cemetery is also interesting, with several artistically valuable noble and bourgeois crypts in the Empire and Historicism
