A popular tourist destination in Medzilaborce is the Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art, founded in 1991 as the world’s first institution dedicated to this significant figure of pop art. The museum also features the largest exhibition on World War I in Slovakia, aiming to preserve the memories of the war that affected Medzilaborce in 1914-1915. This period is also commemorated in Medzilaborce through an educational trail connecting World War I monuments.
Another appealing place in the town is the Miniature Open-Air Museum, which offers visitors a glimpse into the past with handmade replicas of Rusyn houses Tourists are also attracted to the tourist train, which takes them through the town and its surroundings, where various monuments can be found (Krásny Brod – Monastier, Habura, Kalinov, etc.).

The Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art is a museum-gallery institution primarily dedicated to the life and work of Andy Warhol. However, it also showcases contemporary trends in visual arts and culture. The permanent exhibitions feature works by Andy Warhol, works about his origins, and an exhibition titled “Street-art vs. pop-art,” which includes works by renowned artists such as Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein, and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Kamjana Forest Park
Kamjana Forest Park is located in the western part of Medzilaborce and allows tourists to explore the values of forests and the natural-historical features of the Kamjana forest massif. It is suitable for individual, family, and educational tourism. The most interesting point of the educational trail is the rocky formation known as Čertov kameň (Devil’s Stone).
Basilica of St. Basil the Great
Basilica of St. Basil the Great is the oldest building in Medzilaborce. The church was built in the Baroque architectural style but was later modified in the Neoclassical style. The church’s notable feature is its Baroque iconostasis.
Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit
The Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit in Medzilaborce was built in 1949 as a memorial to the fallen soldiers trail connecting World War I monuments. It is built in the Old Russian Renaissance style and is richly decorated with icons.
