By air
The nearest international airport is located in Košice, which is 46 km away from Prešov. Košice Airport currently operates seven direct flights to Prague, Warsaw (Frederic Chopin Airport), Vienna, London (Luton Airport and Stansted Airport), Liverpool, and Dublin. Thanks to cooperating carriers, Košice Airport provides access to more than 500 destinations with a maximum of one transfer.

By car
Prešov is directly connected to the D1 (E70) highway, the second-largest city in Slovakia, Košice. The completion of the D1 Fričovce – Svinia section, with a length of 11.2 km, allows uninterrupted travel on the highway from Prešov to Ružomberok.
In the city of Prešov, three main roads intersect:
- I/18 – a first-class road from Žilina to Ružomberok, Poprad, Prešov, and Michalovce. Its length is 304 km, and in the Žilina – Prešov section, it runs parallel to the D1 highway.
- I/68 – a first-class road in Slovakia from Mníšek nad Popradom, the state border, Stará Ľubovňa, to Prešov.

The international lines of SAD Prešov, a.s., are primarily intended for passenger transport across the state borders. Currently, there is an international line from Prešov to Vranov nad Topľou, Michalovce, Vyšné Nemecké, and Užhorod.
